Additionally, they sent me a letter taking credit for giving me on-board credit to my ship's account. Only problem with that is that it was my travel agency that sent me the on-board credit and NOT MSC.
As for the refund, they tell my travel agency that they sent the $200 that they owe me but that it "was returned by the credit card company." Huh? Since when do credit card companies refuse refunds for their cardholders? Neither the travel agent or I believe this for one second. Plain and simple, they are trying to weasel out of paying me what is owed.
They sent me a certificate for 15% off the next cruise with MSC in addition to the letter in which they claim credit for the on-board credit. That discount is not worth the pixels it takes up my screen as I would never book another cruise with such an amateur company again.
The bottom line is, if I don't receive the $200 pretty damn quick, I will hire an attorney, sue them in Federal District Court, and add Attorney fees, interest, and whatever the Court feels is just and appropriate. At this point, I consider this a pretty cheap and pedestrian move on the part of such a large shipping company that decided to dabble in cruise ships. Do us a favor, and get out of American waters.
